THE TERRITORY
The territory surrounding Casa Fois is rich in history, culture and traditions.
Casa Fois is located just 10 Km from Castelsardo a charming medieval village, perched on a promontory overlooking the Gulf of Asinara. There are only 2 kilometers that separate it from the beaches of Maragnani and La Ciaccia. Also, nearby: San Pietro a Mare in Valledoria, the beach of Li Junchi, Badesi, fino all’, Isola Rossa.
Behind the hilly chain of Mount Ruju, there is the thermal center of Casteldoria - with its curative waters - dominated by the ancient medieval tower of the Doria family (whose myths and legends were also narrated by the Nobel prize winner Grazia Deledda in her Racconti sardi of 1894), 12 km away.

A Viddalba, then, to discover the Archaeological Museum preserving finds ranging from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages, with its 80 funerary steles that represent the most significant collection. Another sight not to miss is the Church of San Giovanni, built in Romanesque style and dating back to the eleventh century AD.
A 7 km away from Casa Fois, the Domus de Janas (literally "House of Fairies") in Sedini represents, instead, the evidence of an ancient funerary necropolis dating back to the IV or III millennium BC.
Between Sedini and Castelsardo, a few kilometers away, there is the well-known "Rock of the Elephant", a gigantic volcanic rock sculpted by the wind which looks like a huge pachyderm. Not far away we can find the Nuraghe Paddaggiu, emblem of a millenary culture and civilization, recognized as World Heritage Site.

About 30 km away, on the road to Santa Teresa di Gallura, there is the area of Costa Paradiso with its breathtaking views and anthropomorphic rocks of red granite, which preserves the legendary Cupola, an example of architecture of the 70s, designed by architect Dante Bini as a summer residence of one of the most famous couples of Italian Cinema, formed by the movie director Michelangelo Antonioni and actress Monica Vitti.
Halfway between Alghero, the Sardinian Catalan town famous for its corals, the Costa Smeralda and the Archipelago of La Maddalena, pearls and emblems of the Mediterranean lifestyle, Casa Fois is located in a strategic position in North Sardinia, a crossroads of culture, traditions and nature.
